Fruits acorn globose, ovoid or conical, 1.5-3 cm long, 1.4-1.7 cm in diameter; glabrous; cup enclosing 1/2 of nut; cup 1.2-1.5 cm long 1.8-2.2 cm wide, 1.5-3 mm thick, both sides tomentose, with bracts in 6-9 concentric rings (only the basal rings are slightly dentate); scar 8 mm in diameter, convex; stylopodium persistent, ringed; maturing in 1 year;
