Flowers April to June, on female inflorescences 5-10 cm long;
Fruits acorn 1.7-2 cm long, 1.3-1.5 cm wide; light brown; yellowish velutinous; thin cup 1.3 cm in diameter, densely tomentose inside, glabrescent outside, enclosing 1/2 or 1/3 of nut, with 6-9 concentric rings denticulate at rim; scar 4-6 mm wide, convex; stylopodium persistent; maturing in 2 years;
