For Menitsky (1976), there is a subspecies : subsp yaiensis,
in Thailand, differing from the type in having larger elliptic leaves,
with more secondary veins (12-15 pairs), and a bigger acorn. -- Moreover, Q. lenticellata is considered by Menitsky as a true species that reaches 40 m for a trunk to 1 m in diameter; leaves identical but toothed at the apical half; 14-16 pairs of secondary veins impressed above and slightly raised beneath. |
