Range Cantabriques Mounts, in North of Spain (Asturias).
Growth habit small tree, or shrub;
Leaves papery, covered with thick cuticle ; base weakly auricled;
Flowers male flowers with bigger stamens than those of Q.robur, with pubescent perianth; 
Fruits acorn globose or widely ovate; scare flat; apex subtruncate; wider and flatter cup than Q.robur, with scales pinkish glabrescent above,  densely  whitish tomentose on their margin ;

Bark, twigs and
buds

budscales glabrescent, with margin ciliate;
Hardiness zone, habitat wet places, on acidic siliceous soils ;
Miscellaneous -- Was considered as Q.x rosacea (= Q.robur X Q.petraea).
-- Hybridizes with Q.petraea ( = Q.x puentei ), and with Q.pyrenaica (= Q.penasii).
