Twigs rather stout (4-5 mm.), fluted, detachably long-stellate-fleecy.
Buds?.
Leaves deciduous ?, elliptical-obovate, obtuse, cordate, coarsely dentate-lobed,
crisped, rather large (6-7 x 7-12 cm.), puberulent or glabrescent and glossy
above, the whitened lower face covered by a detachable yellowish fleece of
matted stellate hairs; veins about 10 pairs, often forked but scarcely looping;
petiole tomentose, 2 x 2-3 mm., often with persistent stipules. Flowers and
fruit?.
Western Sierra Madre region of Mexico.
